This petition is for the cause of increasing awareness of human trafficking in public schools. Every 40 seconds a child is kidnapped. The majority of those are sold into sex trafficking rings. There are official undercover operations to combat this horrific and extremely profitable business, but we need education about it closer to home, in our local public schools. Sex trafficking education is not currently being taught in schools. We believe that it is crucial for our children to understand the dangers that are lurking among us. The criminals who run these operations have other children lure their peers away with all kinds of ideas in order to snatch them quickly and it can happen even while there are adults around in plain sight because another child is the lure and they don't see another child as any kind of threat. If we could only get this education into the local schools, it could prevent this from happening. Even one child who listens, is one we have rescued. This epidemic is at our very doors, happening all around us. We MUST do what we can. Petitions can help because they carry weight much more than one person calling or writing to speak to someone who has the authority to make it happen.
