This is definitely not correct. When parents send their wards to the School, they do so in complete faith making them the care takers / guardians, replacing the parents. The School authorities have evidently failed in their duties and now if they are not ready to stand up to the heinous crime and punish the accused then they should definitely be dealt with seriously and the best way to get the message straight and strong to all the other Schools also is by closing this School and cancelling the licenses / certificates of the teacher involved and the Principal also as he has deliberately failed in inducing discipline in the School The School pleading ignorance is hilarious, like a father of a girl child announcing publicly he is not concerned if a rape was done to the child as he was not at the scene. The School definitely is completely responsible We teach our children to respect the School and their teachers. If this School is let go without being punished then all the students of this School would come to an understanding that this crime can be committed at will and the school would secure their safety. THE OUTCOME - a group of rapists in the society educated by this School The matter should be dealt seriously, and there are no comments about the accused he should be simply put to death in what-ever means available through law. Even if this is not done I am sure all the parents who are angry about this sinful and atrocious crime would pelt him to death

This is high time we should have stringent action against such criminals...else the society will be so unsafe taht we may start fearing sending our kids to school.

This is just horrible..the school is hugely responsible for this unfortunate incident. I cannot imagine the trauma this chid and her family is going through. Shame on these people!

This is just not right. How come the School authorities are not responsible. The school authorities are very much responsible for the safety and well being of the child right from the time the Child gets picked up and till the moment is dropped back home. For police to say that School is not responsible would imply that police action is plain irresponsible and downright disgusting. There was an incident sometime back in Bihar where scores of Children had died after consuming meal that was prepared in a container used to store harmful chemicals. The Principal of that school was arrested and very rightly so, for he had failed to ensure the very task he was supposed to manage - that of ensuring the safety and security of the child. Same logic here. For Police to say that they cannot investigate further, is just plain stupidity. If the concerned official cannot investigate, then it shows is inept and downright not capable to do anything, then so he needs to be replaced by someone who can.

The guilty in such incidents should not be spared but publicly punished so that it becomes an example for others. Expedited cases in the court of law for such horrific and shameful incidents will deter others not to get involved in future.

Its a sad situation where even educational institutes cover up their flaws and law is unable to prevent or rather bring the culprits to the book...its time we do something rather than being helpless and watch as mute spectators let's participate and raise our voice against all such incidents .

Please bring in regulations to prevent such horrors and punish the guilty, not just of the crime but the cover-up as well... Somebody thought it's okay to let a pervert go unpunished as long as they can keep the school open and fleece money... Xseed you should be ashamed ... Police and politicians shame on for letting this go lightly so far... Act now India!

We as Indian citizen must make this society a safe one for our kids, anyone who misues/cross humanity norms must be punished severly. Strong recommend that all involved members in crime and supporting in hiding must be punished.
