Evidence of the Mayor and City Council’s failure is all around. The grass roots effort of Safe Seattle and SOS! is sound, compassionate, and based in statistical reality.

This is an absurd amount of money for no long term relief. I feel I am overtaxed already, you want more and I don't believe you are looking out for anyone's interested but your own and or your friends!

These tent sites are not working, we need to find safe housing for the folks that want it and permanently remove the folks that do not want it.

The amount of money wasted on these temporary fixes is astronomical and wasteful. We need permanent transitional housing, medical care & treatment for mental illness and addiction.

Please let's actually help these people. Let's adopt the recommendations of Barbara Pope and provide permanent housing and other services, not temporary housing and "legal" places for people to "shoot up"

Let's look to cities that are front-runners on this issue. Boston is tackling homelessness with placement services. Let's use decommissioned Navy ships, Magnusson barracks or other available space for short term temp housing. Let's not cater to the out of state transients, and please do not assess Seattle property owners to pay for this. It will drive up housing prices!!

Stop funding Seattle's Poverty Industry. Start funding real solutions.

This petition is going to be signed by people that don't want the encampments in their neighborhoods, not by people who want a better solution to the homeless problem. Regardless of the intent of the petition, it will garner support for the wrong reason, and for that reason it should be deleted.

Elected officials need to listen to those they were elected to represent; not take issues into their own hands disregarding what the general public deserves to know / vote on.

It's past time for genuine solutions, housing with social services, electricity, access to showers and laundry. For God's sake impose impact fees on developers and big/ expanding businesses to fund this. Wake up City Council and mayor, quit the pontificating and do your jobs.

please help homeless folks find their home, as that's one of the basic human needs.
