It's so cruel. The horses look in terrible condition, underweight and have such sad exhausted faces. Busy roads are not the places for these beautiful animals. It's archaeic and cruel. In this day and age we should know better. It should be banned asap!
Je suis choquée de l utilisation de ces pauvres bêtes en plein Dublin ! Comment peut on les laisser deambuler au beau milieu du trafic en plein centre ville ?? C est une honte, j ai beaucoup aimé Dublin mais cette pratique me dégoute, d autant que l on voit très bien que les hommes qui les mènent ne font ça que pour le fric sur un fond de maltraitance.
I have heard several people comment on witnessing handlers beat these horses when they are too exhausted to work. One horse collapsed from being over worked to exhaustion and the man handling the horse had to be stopped beating the poor thing in an attempt to get it back up and working. It is absolutely abhorrent that this cruel practice is allowed to continue at all let alone this unregulated.
Currently Staying in Fleet Street and a poor horse standing there with his rear foot in the air. Obviously in pain and still having to pull a carriage. Looking thin. Horses last year outside Guinness museum all day with no access to water in searing heat, and no shade. Shameful.
Have been in Dublin last week and make me feel sick seeing so many small skinny horses, most clearly neglected, forced to walk in the concrete streets with their carriages... Please stop it. Tourism must be animal cruelty free!

Its time to end Horse-Drawn Carriages, Sulkies and Carts in Dublin. Its inhumane practice for the horses and not necessary for tourism.

Saw a horse today carrying 5 adults in 20+ degree heat. Absolutely terrible, poor horses are not considered at all!!!
