While we think road safety announcements are a good idea, we can't help noticing that there is a severe lack of horse road safety warnings on tv & radio.
Horses have been using the roads longer than any motor vehicle or cycle & are being forced onto the roads more & more due to loss of green space. Traffic is getting heavier & quicker very often using country lanes as rat runs often at great speeds.
Whilst most riders that use the roads have traffic savvy horses these are still live animals & can be spooked.
We the undersigned would like to see more horse safety announcements on tv & radio in an attempt to educate drivers. This could also be used to educate riders on staying safe; wearing hi-viz, thanking drivers etc.

I really never pictured so many people actually agreeing that horses deserve a bit more space and sanity on these busy roads. It feels like we are finally reaching enough people to make somebody actually listen to us about these danger zones.

Drivers have no clue how to pass a horse properly and it is honestly terrifying every time I go out. We need these ads before someone gets killed.
Too many people speeding down country lanes these days. Need to teach them that horses are unpredictable animals.

YES PLEASE. tired of being yelled at just for existing on the road. some education for car drivers is long overdue.
