Let's stop pretending that these are "100 year events" and do something about the drainage issue. If these floods happen again I, and many of my Polo Farms neighbors, will not rebuild yet again. Even if one has flood insurance - which I did and still do - the stress and physical toll are simply too much for a population that is largely older. As I approach age 78, I can not and will not do this again. The county is already facing a number of homes in which the owners simply walked away. A repeat event will leave a virtual ghost town.

My home was flooded and I do not want this to happen to myself, my neighbors, or anyone else again - especially due to any human negligence in planning, zoning, or construction.

Please help us, unless this is stopped, all this new building, we in Longs will all have to leave our properties we have worked so hard for. Leaving SC to clean up. We have cleaned up once and should not have to again, knowing what the problem is with the flooding this past sept 2018. PEOPLE LISTEN !! We need to keep our properties safe and this is a great start.

I live at 730 Alexis … Drive Longs South Carolina in Polo Fatms And lost everything inside the house due to flooding in the Florence hurricane. I I am just moving back in after five months of reconstruction. I believe other housing in my area will result in other floods. I urge Horry county to put a moratorium on such development until we can get a suitable drainage plan.
