I look very on the Waccamaw and it's mostly beautiful....but when it's flooded it's down right ugly and I want to leave here! Why not take better care of the river? Conway and the surrounding areas are building like crazy, attracting people from all over to come live here....how much better it would be if the river were cleaned up!

We need a stronger planning and zoning board. New construction needs to be regulated. Burbs need to be up to help with construction debris, traffic studies, drainage upgrades, green space and using existing commercial buildings in place of building new. A moratorium would allow an update to building codes

I am in North Myrtle Beach and we have been fighting about 18 months to preserve an area of land 9.4 acres we've named Ingram Dunes. The City Council has pledged $500,000 and we just got a grant from the SC Conservation bank $510,000 +we have raised close to $100,000 but need approximately $2 million. My point is this, these dunes are 50 ft above sea level, the trees, sand and high dunes help prevent flooding ,protect against hurricanes etc. I would think being the last dunes of this type the State would want to save this land. Unfortunately it's all about money not conservation of trees, land. Money is always the bottom line. Instead let's build 31 homes that will be empty 9 months of the year and take away the homes of all the animals living there...........

Over development will ruin Myrtle Beach. We have seen the effects with recent flooding in areas that did not flood previously

The over development of existing wetlands and the overdevelopment of that same land causing additional shedding and inability for the water to be absorbed into the soil.
The fact that Horry County Council is letting the almighty dollar rule their decision-making process is nothing but pure de dyed-in-the-wool greed and I'm sorry that you think that that may not be a valid statement but you have done nothing to prove me wrong.
When is the Horry County Council going to realize that they're damaging the environment and the beauty that once was Horry County no longer exist in many places because Horry County has allowed developers to wipe the Slate clean literally and figuratively

Talk about infrastructure we don't have any roads as it is. Bring the people on so we can sit in 3 hour traffic daily. Get a Grip people.

Victim of the flooding in "rosewood estates" twice now, enough is enough - stop overbuilding in Horry County and the payoffs under the table with conflict of interests.
