Flooding becomes a greater concern when you cut down more trees and clear land for development.

Recently called councilman gosnell asked if there were any conversations going on about the dams on lake Waccamaw to possibly be opened when there is a forecast of heavy rainfall hurricanes etc to open the dams to relieve an onrush potential flood waters going down the Waccamaw consequently flooding Conway socastee bucksport words to describe but I literally got a blank look during a phone conversation why if our politicians cannot be proactive to problems at least be reactive whatever happened to the talk about diverting Waccamaw River flood waters through Little River I guess it's expecting too much to have politicians solve a problem John Martinez Conway

STOP the building.

Lived in my house for 21 years. Water in yard periodically yes. Water in the house no, until it flooded twice in 3 years. I believe this is because of the building of the subdivision called Silver Creek. Water used to be dispersed there now because it was raised up and developed the waterway has no where to go except into Socastee lower areas mainly ROSEWOOD.

There is over development in this area for sure and so fast we done see what it’s actually doing until after the fact. Very bad for the environment

Stop building

Filling these wetlands in order to facilitate the greed of the county, will only make things worse for the people who reside here. Areas that have never flooded before have been filling with water. Our roads cannot handle more people. Contractors on these roads have bailed and left with $3m+ unpaid. We are taxed to death already. Stop the greed. Stop the building. Let experts observe the current trends of our area, so we don't drown again.

Please don’t rezone atleast until Army Corp of engineers can determine flood areas.

The new roads designed under the RIDE program are atrocious. I could present a plan that makes way more sense. Who are these engineers anyway!? It’s obvious they don’t live here because they certainly do not understand our traffic patterns. The 707/Farrow Parkway exchange is ridiculous at best and cost us a small fortune. Y’all really need to get it together!

Need to put a hold on building till water problem is solved. Areas flooding that never did before too much development going on.

Study of impacts to the environment needs to be completed before more wetlands and rural areas are destroyed

The cities and county are interested in collecting as much money for properties, like the Conway Golf Club and property under wires and over gas lines off of Hemingway Chapel Drive. However, there is not sufficient time taken concerning the rezoning that each of these examples needs. The city and county Council seems to approve rezoning for the builders without the correct care needed to see the impact it would have on flooding or the existing neighborhoods. I urge you to take the additional time necessary before rezoning as many neighborhoods in Conway experienced devastating flooding that may have been avoided had enough time been taken before rezoning.
