You need a moratorium against any new building. Try to improve the quality of life for people living here, rather than bringing new people in. You need to build infrastructure and other things rather than think of lining your pockets.

This is way overdue. I became homeless due to nothing being done about flooding. All this building has to stop. You can’t take down every tree we have and not expect flooding issues.
Plus we need Crabtree swamp cleaned out. Dredge the Waccamaw River would probably help.
The county shouldn’t allow another building permit to be issued due to flooding. Plus our roads can’t handle the traffic we have now. We don’t need anymore housing. And Anymore traffic in the area. More houses more people....more traffic. More flooding. It has to stop!

I agree 1000% that's why I will be running for county council next year . We have go to start planning for growth but the first step is to make sure we have taken care of every need and problem we already have! I also live in a flood area which is also in the same area if the dooms day road (501) if we can't get the road widened to at least 6 lanes all the way out of here and the water drainage issues there's no need to build any more houses!! If we allow this we're putting more lifes at risk plain and simple #VotePHIPPS2020

A temporary injunction is what is needed, but I don’t think this petition will make that happen. This needs real legal action, filed by lawyers.

In the 11 years I have lived here I have never seen the swamp water from my door, my yard, and my driveway. Why is it so visible now? Why hasn't any one from Santee Cooper or any one been able to answer me. Why all of the sudden is the county paving driveways that hadn't been touched for years, why are they cleaning ditches that they haven't ever cleaned. I think it's to hush us and make us feel like we count for something. Tired of all the B.S.

Though we are new residents, we are already seeing the effects of overbuilding vs concern for the ecosystem. The Conway Loop Road, in particular, is an unnecessary boondoggle that will not relieve traffic so much as siphon new development into sensitive areas. Please consider what future generations will have to deal with when you approve new developments and infrastructure. I for one would rather see a redoubling of efforts to rebuild the 501 bridge; that alone would solve many traffic issues.

Why are the County destroying wetlands? Clear cutting trees on hundreds, even thousand acres. Absolutely no planning for inter structure, only dumping hundreds of vehicles onto crowded highways. Building permits and taxes are all the County is looking at.

Our Conway home/property located in unincorporated Horry County has flooded 3 times during the last 4 years. Each year the flooding is worse than the time before. Yet Horry County officials continue to issue more permits that allow developers to denude the land by uprooting trees and filling in wetlands that are vital to absorbing the water runoff. A building moratorium for large tract developments needs to be enacted, a comprehensive plan to improve the existing roadways and bridges that are compromised and impassable after a big rain event and the Waccamaw River should be dredged and cleaned out. The needs of our current residents of Horry County should be addressed before enticing more people to move here from other places. Furthermore I-73 is NOT going to solve our flooding issues it will probably make matters worse!
