This unbridled development must be better thought out by our elected leaders. And if they don’t the only sure way to stop it is vote them out of office and replace with a council that will put residents first.

I am right across from North Myrtle Beach middle and elementary school. They have placed 40 houses on a track beside our 30 year old development. Now across the street they are trying to build another one right beside the school. The run off has been flooding the road in front of the elementary school. Also on route 1008 the working on another project not even a mile away. Do we have the infrastructure let alone how the flooding issues from clear cutting. We need county planning and a study from the army core of engineers.

I am a lifelong resident here in Horry County and have always lived on Hwy 90. The new construction is out of control! Flooding was at an all time high this past year and with new development popping up everywhere it will only worsen with time. Not to mention the county can’t maintain what we currently have much less an additional building boom.

I am a resident in a neighborhood along Highway 90 in Conway/Myrtle Beach. Development needs to be haulted until the lack of consideration for infrastructure and services that are already inadequate for existing residents are updated and adequate to handle the needs of specific areas of the county. Road flooding & traffic safety, power, water & sewer drainage/capacity, rising crime, law enforcement and fire services need to be addressed for existing tax payers and residents before a glut of new are granted the opportunity to overburden and over run the existing situations that exist in the communities all throughout Horry County.

Many Residents of your Community (Conway included) are asking you to pay attention to our flooding concerns, there are just too many of them. You can no longer allow what's happening to your citizens with out taking a long-hard look at the cause of flooding. The Citizens deserve "Action" from our local government leaders. New Development is inevitable but with a lot more Common Sense.

Worried also about flooding with new costruction in sun colony ,longs and how it will impact colonial charters. Huge tract of land denuded of many, many trees . Bringing in and spreading of huge amts of fill to raise the property. The runoff is spilling into the ponds of colonial charters.

The over building in the Little River/Longs area has gotten out of control. Along hwy 57 there are signs indicating over 300 new homes to be built. There are daily accidents at the corner of 57 and 9 and that will only get worse as the new Beazer community goes up in one of the most frequent accident locations.
There appears to be no consideration for the capability of the roads to handle the extra traffic. Hwy 57 is a short cut to 31 for all the 18 wheel vehicles and the folks coming out of NC, some days we wait for over 5 minutes just to get out of our community.
Constantly stripping the land of all trees is resulting in no place for water to go. The Retreat which is an established community has flooded many times and yet an approval was given to build more homes.
This has got to stop and more careful consideration must go into the requests for permits to build and include provisions to improve the roads and to leave a percentage of trees.
