No way this can happen to a Historic neighborhood. There are plenty of properties available in the adjoining areas that will suit this fine cause without infringing on old Hope Valley home owner's desire to keep commercialism out of this beautiful historical part of Durham. I respect and adhere to the covenants and I expect others to do as well. My $.02.

Our neighborhood is residential and it should stay that way.

I agree with the HVNA that Bentley Drive is particularly unsuited for commercial activity.

I am a huge supporter of personal care homes but do not believe this is an appropriate location.

While I'm not opposed to group homes, having previously experienced living in close proximity to a group home imbedded in the neighborhood & the subsequent negative impact experienced by neighbors, I don't believe it's a win-win arrangement. In our case, our neighborhood wasn't notified by Durham City or County the vacant house was going to be a group home. We weren't aware until negative occurrences started happening.

Truly an odd fit! Area is heavily wooded with a large creek winding through the terrain; roads curve n follow the hills, golf course and creek Confusing area to drive in ...easy to get lost in.
