Texas, the most energy rich state in our nation, has chosen to follow in the footsteps of California. Texas has transitioned the state’s electric generation away from baseload energy by retiring a significant amount of reliable energy and replacing it with an unreliable (wind power). Now, Texas can no longer provide energy security for all Texans! Currently, millions of Texans are out of electricity. No American deserves forced outages!

Amazingly, Indiana is looking to follow this failed example and retire a significant amount of our reliable coal energy resources in the next 3 years. It is hard to believe we cannot learn from California and Texas. Hoosiers deserve electricity 24 hours a day on all 365 days of the year, ESPECIALLY during such dangerously cold weather!

Do not let Indiana become California or Texas. Hoosiers deserve both affordable and reliable energy sources.

Help keep Indiana’s main source of power, RELIABLE ENERGY, by adding your name to the list of Hoosiers who demand Indiana State Legislators do NOT adopt irresponsible energy policies like Texas and California!

If you can find a cleaner and more efficiant way to produce the same megawatts as coal, I am all for it. No other resources currently, renewable or nonrenewable, can replace coal. My family depends on coal and yours does too if you turn on your lights every night. We NEED coal fired power plants!

This the way I support my family if our plants go away I don't know what I would do. Just by looking at solar panels freezing up and the windmills freezing we need coal burning to keep electricity and heat to our homes.

How many times does it take to realize following CA does not ensure what is best for Indiana residents. Didn't work for TX and sure won't work with our seasons.

I am very concerned about unreliable electric power due to the plans to shut down units at IPL/AES recently renamed AES Indiana and also the plans to close Hoosier Energy, Merom. Wind and solar energy are not reliable! Too many cloudy days, not enough wind.

Replacing power sources that work every day with ones that can't work when we need them the most is expensive and foolish. Cold weather doesn't cause power outages, it causes increased demand. The lack of ability to meet that demand because generating sources can't work causes power outages.

Loosing coal would not only weaken our electricity / entire grid, but also our so many hard working men/women (paying big tax dollars) out of work. Let’s learn from others mistakes and make a wiser decision for the good of all Hoosiers.
