April 2, 2009 The West Toronto Leaders Group have joined to represent the community regarding the WEST DIAMOND JOINT VENTURE PROJECT To GO Transit, the Canadian Transportation Agency, MPP Cheri DiNovo, MP Gerard Kennedy, MP Mario Silva, MPP Tony Ruprecht We, the undersigned residents of Canada, agree to representation by The West Toronto Leaders Group in seeking a solution to the current disruption using mediation and/or the formal complaint processes available through the Canadian Transportation Agency and draw attention to the Parties listed above to the following: THAT the construction project, specifically the piling or pile driving at the West Diamond Joint Venture Project site is invasive to area residents and businesses; THAT the diesel-hammer pile drivers currently employed are primitive and are not representative of the current state of pile installation technology; THAT many residents have daily suffered unacceptable distress arising from the diesel-hammer pile driving since its onset; THAT many area businesses have been forced to relocate or have had their normal trade adversely affected by intense and repetitive sound and strongly noticeable low frequency vibrations emanating from the construction site, those sounds and those vibrations occurring most specifically during times of diesel-hammer pile driving; THAT duplicates of home inspections undertaken to monitor possible damage done to property by the diesel-hammer pile drivers are being withheld from homeowners and businesses, apparently upon instruction by McCormick Rankin Corporation, the projectâ
