Coach Carter's love and dedication to his students provides lasting impacts on their lives. As a mediocre athlete he still pored his heart and sole into my performance on the track. He gave me something far more valuable then any win or letter grade in school. That was confidence! As a high school student I spent too much time questioning everything. He taught me to believe in myself and that has carried on throughout the years. I graduated Pinecrest in 1997 and went to NC State where I received a commission in the United States Army as an Engineer. Now as a mother I can only hope that my children will find their Coach Carter. There is no telling how many lives he has impacted over his career. I am extremely blessed to have the fortune of being one his athletes. I cannot ever thank him enough.

Coach Carter is a wonderful coach and man. He helped my mom and I after we moved to the area. It was difficult coming into a new school as an 8th grader but he took the time to help us transition into our new lives.

Coach Carter is the epitome of the word “educator” & has always been the foundation young students needed in their lives at that time. He should be recognized for his long-standing tenure in Moore County schools as well a positive influence over our entire community!
