The Phono didn't finally close in 1996 as I remember going there around the mid 2000's. Sadly it was more of an "old folks" trip for us and the cheeky young goth kid on the door suggested we should find somewhere else to go as we wouldn't enjoy "this kind of place" Oh yeah says me and my mate, now let me tell you how long we've been coming here you little****, here's my money and if you'll excuse me I'm going for a dance!

Leeds not only home of the first Goth night club but also the first ever piece of film on Leeds Bridge by Louis le Prince in 1889. Time to put Leeds on the cultural map
