We the undersigned would like the Columbus East High School band room be named after Mr. Pemberton. Ora C. Pemberton taught thousands of band students at Columbus East High School and Central Middle School for over two decades - an entire generation of students. We want to show him our appreciation for everything he has done for us and for what he continues to do for our community.
Please - share this with anyone who grew up in Columbus and knows Mr. Pemberton. However, please do not share this publicly. We don't want Mr. Pemberton to know while we are still in the early stages.

I have been reading through your stories about how Mr. Pemberton shaped your lives and it reminds me exactly why I started this. We are currently working behind the scenes to prepare a formal proposal for the school board so they understand the impact he had on all of us.

Seeing this grow makes me think of all the early mornings Mr. Pemberton spent helping us find our sound. We are building something that truly honors his legacy and I am grateful for the way this community has stepped up to show him his impact.

Congrats on the new band room. It would be great to name it Pemberton Hall, or the like, to honor him for his contributions!
Mr. Pemberton inspired all of us band members to be the best musicians we could be!!!
Best times in school involved Band and Mr. P - he cared for each of us like we were his own children and taught us teamwork, precision, and style

I have nothing but great memories from my experience with music. My unique experience crossed over from concert band, orchestra, marching and symphonic band. Thanks for all the great memories Mr. Pemberton.
Mr. Pemberton taught me the tuba. While it isn't a trumpet, its still a mighty instrument needed in any band.
Very deserving of the honor.

This would be a great honor for a man that cared deeply for all his kids in the band and did so at his own expense so many times.
