NAFSA: Association of International Educators is one of the few organizations that can take action to recognize the bravery and extraordinary commitment of this young woman. We, the members of NAFSA, call on the association to take action to honor Malala Yousafzai in one of several ways:
- Issue a public statement recognizing Malala Yousafzai and condemning the attack on her life;
- Invite her family to the annual NAFSA conference to be honored by the international education community;
- Create an award in the name of Malala Yousafzai to honor young educators in countries doing similar work to promote education against difficult circumstances.

Malala is a hero. Period.
This is a great idea. Education is a basic human right and she proved that at such a young age

so sad what happened to her but so proud of how she stood up for herself and other girls. we need more people like her in this world
