It's been my honor to get to know Coach Dobbs over the past 13 years. He is truly a legend in high school Track & Field coaching and absolutely deserves such an honor.

I had the privilege of Coach Dobbs as my teacher. He is a great person with an uncanny ability instill in others the desire to work hard to reach their goals. And I love his wry sense of humor. I cannot think of anyone more deserving than Coach Dobbs to name the field house after.

Coach Dobbs was the most influential and fair coach I ever had! He expected 100% from you but he was also kind at the same time.

Coach Dobbs has my upmost respect, and is a positive role model. Of all the other coaches I will always remember coach Dobbs and his unique ways of getting his point across. When my daughters were in 6th grade they took a day to the HEB camp in Leakey, and I saw coach there teaching a class on knot tying, he didn't recognize me but it has been a long time!, but it sure brought a smile to my face.

There are two coaches that I hold in high regards. Charlie Dobbs and Clifton Fifer. Their coaching didn’t stop off the field or out of the classroom. Much respect for both!!!
