It’s very important to have such a place in our vicinity. Me and a good friend discovered the cemetery a couple of years ago and we’re humbled by the beauty and peacefulness of the area. He is now resting there peacefully. What you are doing is a great tribute to all veterans in our area. Please make this happen for our present and future heroes. Thank you.

American Military members have fought for freedom and liberty in wars and battles all over the globe. They have fought on land, at sea, and in the Air. They did not fight for conquest or to capture other lands. They fought to free others from the bonds of tyranny. And all they ever asked in return was for enough land to bury and honor those who gave their lives in defense of freedom.
Today, all we are asking is for a little piece of land at Fort Sheridan Cemetery as a final resting place for those brave souls who answered their nation's call to duty. We request additional space to honor those whose earthly duties have come to an end. Surely this small parcel will not be missed by those who visit this large Forest Preserve for outdoor recreation.

While not a veteran myself, this land should without question be approved for transfer to the Veterans Administration for proper place of honor for US heroes.
