Gil was the heart of the fifty Brooklyn Dodgers..and the foundation of the NY Mets...if Gil did die at a yearly age he would have been in the Halls forty years ago....

Would be wonderful for the Mets to have a statue to take pictures in front of....and for the Dodgers to retire Gil's number to trigger renewed interest in Gil...and try to get Tom Seaver, Don Newcombe, Tommy Lasorda, Vin Scully, Joe Morgan and other notables to sign this...bp

A well deserved rememberance for such an outstanding figure in baseball. Memories of 1969 and his outstanding ability to take the New York Mets to a World Series Champioship .....as I remember the win, I still feel the emotion of that amazing win. Think he is looking down on the Mets and whispering....time to do it again...World Series Champs...2016.
