Honor Gil Hodges and Tom Seaver With a Statue at Citi Field

I cannot comprehend why current Mets ownership doesn't understand that the Mets have established their own traditions. Just having the numbers of these two individuals retired is not sufficient. They were the two most prominent figures in transforming the franchise from perennial losers to annual contenders - especially in leading the 1969 squad to the World Championship.

There definitely should be statues of both Gil & Tom both contributed to the great history of Mets baseball

Glad Mets are doing something for this great player and even better person

Gil Hodges (who was an original Met, and hit the very first home run in team history) managed the Mets out of the wilderness and to the World Championship in just his second year as their skipper. Tom Seaver is the Mets' greatest player by far. He won three Cy Young awards, and holds numerous other team records. Both Hodges and Seaver are very deserving of a statue outside of Citi Field.

His work as playetsnd maneger was exceptional.

If anyone deserves a statue it would be these two

I was honored to be President of his fan club in the 50's and helped organize the Honor Night for him in 57. He should be a major inspiration for all the players of today! inspiration

Please do what's right and honor these men with this statue.

Jackie Robinson was a great man, and a great player. But, he wasnt a.Met. Hodges and Seaver should be enshrined in the rotunda at CitiField with their own statues.

Let's Go Mets Seen many great games over the history of the New York Mets , nothing would b better then coming to c The franchise and MR hodges outside citi field . I am disabled with spina bifida and spend many times at Shea and citi fields a lot of great games 73 playoff game # 5 99 2000 playoffs + to many other games to mention saying this and being disabled I find it extremely difficult to attend as many games due to the expense and being on a set income I wish there was a soclarship fund for people who have limited income , with the rising ticket prices and the money teams get from having there own tv stations and what players make today there should b some for fans on limited income Thank you for your attention with this matter and Hopefully another great season of New York Mets baseball in 2016 season

Been a die hard Mets fan for past 47 years at the age of 3 . Made a Mets fan by my grandparents . There have been and will be other great Mets but these 2 deserve special consideration
