Gil Hodges brought the first World Series Championship since the Brooklyn Dodgers. The team from the Bronx don't count. Tom Seaver one of the best ever!

The Hall of Fame is about more than just numbers. Along with his impressive numbers, Gil Hodges was a part of the heart that made the Brooklyn Dodgers of the 40s and 50s so special. With that, you can add what he did as manager of the Miracle Mets of 1969. Top that off with how well he was thought of by both rivals and teammates. Let's give him his rightful place of honor in the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

I am not a Mets fan. I am a fan of Honor, Integrity, and Devotion to the game. These two men exemplified that for me as I was growing up. Their lives reached beyond the five Boroughs all the way to a small town in Oregon. I will always be a fan of these two men.

Frankly put, there would be no Miracle of 1969 were it not for these two individuals that handled the Mets name with class and dignity on and off the diamond. Please Mets ownership, erect a statue to Gil and Tom now!

Seeing as how the Dodgers organization has chosen to ignore the legend and memory of one of its greats, It's up to the Mets to ensure that this great man and ball player gets a well deserved monument to him. It wouldn't hurt to exert your influence to get him into the HOF by the Vets committee next year.
