It is ridiculous to fine people who obviously do not have the means to pay it.

As a city we help refugees from other countries in need as we should. But we also need to look after our homeless citizens as well by providing more housing.

Kelowna needs more shelters for our homeless. So many churches, why can't they help out.

As a Kelowna resident and a Community Support Worker in the Okanagan I am signing this petition on behalf of myself and the people I support to get more accommodations out there for them and to make them feel like a valued member of our Community!

If passed, this would be the most ridiculous law. We don't even have tho think very long or hard as to the multiple reasons why not to pass this.

To think our own local society would fine homeless for sleeping on the streets when they have no warm house to go to at night, then take way Blankets/sleeping bags and probably make their lives more of a living hell than it already is just sickens me to the fullest, this isn't helping, this is hindering.

Mean spirited and harmful laws(no matter how well the intention) need to be fought. Part of the berauty of this city is that we accept ALL of us!

This makes me angry. Homeless people are humans too. You are basically saying that the homeless do not even deserve sleeping on street. We need to have more homeless shelters and accessible medical treatment for those who need it. I refuse to treat homeless people like bags of garbage. Only having the option of sleeping on the streets is bad enough.

Maybe city council could spend a few nights outside to see what if feels like. How about we pass bylaws to help these people. WAKE UP COUNCIL

This bylaw does not solve the greatest problem that exists in the city. Affordable housing and low barrier solutions to homelessness are few and far between. The bylaw is going to further marginalize and disenfranchise a community that needs support. This bylaw is oppressive and a bandaid solution to a systemic problem. Let's help this community, not harm them.
