Times have been challenging during the past 12 months, the schools have been closed and our children are told to be self disciplined and independent during these challenging times.
As parents we are keeping the lights on, working during challenging times but in addition the school have mandated that we have had to support and mentor our children during a school day as tutors to ensure all school work is completed, as well as providing materials, printing work, providing meals and also funding any other activities normally provided by the school.
Additionally it does not feel charitable to ask local businesses such as catering or school buses to review and refund costs when they have fixed costs and small margins, as well as employing local staff who are relying on a wage.
As fee paying parents we are asking for the school to review fees during the 2020 terms and to adjust to a more reasonable level due to the costs and time that have been transferred to all parents and families.

The exhaustion is setting in for all of us as we juggle these extra costs and responsibilities at home. We are getting very near our goal of 250 signatures and I need you to pass this link to someone else today so we can finally gain some real leverage.

Seeing this grow makes me realize I am not the only one feeling the weight of these past months. It is exhausting to keep going but knowing there are so many of us pushing for this change keeps the goal in sight.

We just hit one hundred signatures. It has been a long and draining week but seeing this many people confirm that the current situation is unsustainable helps me push forward.

I have three daughters currently at Harrow and they are all boarders. As you can imagine, it would make a big difference from a financial viewpoint to be able to see a reduction in both the tuition and boarding fees during these very challenging times. Thank you.
A more accommodating attitude to fees would have been appreciated before parents are forced to sign a petition. Also the rationale for the continued Capital Levy is weak and vague comments about what it might be spent on are not satisfactory. It has served its purpose for the expansion.
The facts are simple - Harrow’s costs are down, the school has an enormous amount of cash on balance sheet from levy fees. Harrow needs to support its community of parents who have all been impacted. If Harrow wants to run like a company/PE then the school should behave like any other company and use all its resources to support their students and parents
The full educational experience families signed on for is not being delivered and the school has reduced operating costs as a result. Worldwide schools are discounting tuition fees in light of this.
online learning should ensure interaction and understanding of each child, instead of keep doing the assigned work. we don't expect the school can be reopen so soon, which is good to keep everyone safe. However, thinking about when the children go back to school, the various of understanding between them could generate more work load and pressure to the children themselves.
Tough times requires tough decisions. Maybe it would be to everyone’s benefit to show some compassion to the less fortunate in Hong Kong and all over the world. Some more balanced social and public services that are helping us to cope with the new situations and survive together. Thank you.
Agree, but also the matters of serious concern as outlined by David Kennedy on behalf of 400 parents need to be addressed, which so far the school and governors have not done and basically ignored.
