I definitely want Light - in our country, in our hearts, and in our neighborhood. And, yes, this season, more than any other of the 30 that I've had in VP, I want to be able to walk in my neighborhood with a smile and sense of living in a gentle community "lit" with regard and respect for each other.

We love walking through the neighborhood, but especially when our neighbors decorate their homes. This rule should be reconsidered!! I look forward to continuing to see everyone's lights.

I was very sad when I got the letter demanding that I remove my Halloween decorations. They do no harm and add character and a sense of community. Please change the rules to allow decorations.

As long as no drilling or permanent damage to structures or landscape, decorations should be allowed. Owners should be responsible for any destruction whether direct or accidental..

We have lived in Portofino since 1987 and have never had this CC&R regarding Holiday Decorations so severely enforced I am for keeping all our properties in good clean exterior but just to have decorations over the Holidays dissallowed is really not in the Holiday spirit ( why not look at those pink fences that are warping that is an eye sore )

I am excited by the change this petition may lead to. It seems to me there are a few "squeaky wheels" in this community that go against what the majority of us enjoy in this community. A big thanks to the person who set this up. I look forward to an awesome showing of Christmas lights and spirit this year!!

Thank you for whoever is putting this petition together. This year has been awful. Since my husband is an ICU nurse we could not give any candy out but at least we got a little joy from putting out the Halloween decorations and especially a Halloween pumpkin that our late neighbor Joy and Joe had given us before she died in that plane crash. However, our joy was taken away with a letter from the HOA stating that we had to take our decorations down from "common areas". I am guessing it is because I put Joy's pumpkin on the fence. Talk about a morale killer. This put 2020 for being a lousy year, but I didnt think the HOA would and to the misery. Yes, please change the rule. we want to at least be able to enjoy the holidays with a little bit of cheer.

I don't understand why the decorations can not go up for the different holidays in the common areas. I walk around the complex each day and love to see
decorations. They brighten my day.
The board should rethink their decision to not allow decorations!! They brighten so many peoples day!!!

We absolutely need to be able to decorate. It will brighten the community and give our children something to look forward to. The idea that of all years this year we would be forbidden to do this smacks of authoritarian despotism and must be opposed.

This is clearly an abuse of their powers. A homeowners association should represent the will of the homeowners, not set draconian policies to save themselves a few dollars in landscaping fees.

Taking away xmas spirit, while children and parents feel confined to their homes is just awful. This is a SMALL request that will NOT cost money on behalf of the HOA, and will buy goodwill with many residents. The fact that this petition is even necessary is ridiculous. Let the kids have Christmas! Its a socially distanced and responsible activity that brings happiness. The governor tried to take away Thanksgiving. The school board took away a child's socialization. Society cancelled most group Christmas activities for kids. And now you are trying to take away the right to put up decorations?
Hell ENCOURAGE decorations and have residents drive or walk by to enjoy them all. You might even get some good press, rather than the opposite.

Holiday decorations are a wonderful, family oriented, uplifting, and pleasant tradition enjoyed for decades. During this particular time of pandemic, a little extra good cheer will lift everyone's spirit. Smile and enjoy the season and spirit of giving and sharing.
