Paid parking is a disgrace. The ocean is free for all and we should all respect it and care for it. This sounds like out and put war.

I have a vacation on the inland side of the waterway and think there’s a better way than this. Lots of people who live in surrounding area love to come on the weekends. They can’t afford these high costs and then no guarantee of a parking spot.

I am not in agreement with charging for parking. Those of us that can't afford to come very often should not be penalized for not having the money to live on the island. My husband and I have talked about moving there, but with all the changing being brought forth makes us think twice.

I think about our grandson bringing his little boy to our beautiful beach...a single dad raising his son...alone...a weekend at the beach for parking alone will cost him about $60.....there goes ice cream, putt putt and eating out...and trips to the beach that little feller is already talking about.....its gonna hurt a lot of people

Locals should not have to pay to park. We pay Brunswick County Taxes. We should not have to pay to enjoy the beach. Someone is not thinking about the impact of folks on a fix income. It makes you think they don't want us there to enjoy what God has created.

I have owned a house in the 900 block since 1973. I hate to see the HB I know and love turned into a homeowners and visitors nightmare because of this parking plan.

Please reconsider this decision- we moved to Shallotte to be close to the beach- we pay Brunswick County taxes and feel like there must be another way to address the pier maintenance

The character of Holden Beach will be forever changed with this proposed high number of "legal" parking spaces, regardless of whether free or paid. H65, Isolated OBE is a sand covered one-way street with critically important dunes on ocean side which must be protected. Isolated OBE is hardly wide enough for a trash truck, fire truck to pass a vehicle without any parking. Too dangerous to allow ANY parking. Thanks, Irv Woods, owner 289 OBE.

It really seems to be a clear conflict of interest to let the vendor draw maps when they get 30% of the revenue on fees and fines. Also clear from the proposal mapping they don’t know the town and suggested parking on one-way streets like OBE that would not be safe or ecologically sensible considering the dune and trash impact.
