Hold Vail School District Accountable!

A book with content such as this has no business on a high school reading list. I'm curious as to how it ended up on a reading list in the first place. Is no one in authority paying attention?

Kids get enough sexual content in their lives without assigning reading to them that talks about the joys of masturbation. Let them have a break from our hyper-sexualized culture!

I wouldn’t want to read this as an adult because of its filth. Please remove it from the reading list.

Please do not teach this material to our students. It is not a schools place to introduce or encourage any of this kind of behavior.

I am very disappointed and disgusted that this book was on the approval list for reading in the Vail Schools. After learning about the author and his background, this book definitely has no place in any classroom. My son is a freshman in the vail school district and reading a short synopsis of this book makes me sick to my stomach that something like this could potentially be part of his education. Action needs to be taken to remove this book off of the approval list. A review of all the books approved needs to be done to ensure other books with similar content are not included.

Extremely inappropriate for middle and high school students. Let this book be read in colleges or adults who choose to read it. As a teenager parent at the age 16 I can tell you this book would have only aided to my already interested imagination. You are contributing to these children's hormonal curiosities. This book needs to be banned and if my children are assigned it, they will NOT be participating in this assignment. I will also make sure they are not in attendance during the course of this material.

This book has no business being taught in our schools.

Please remove this book from all of the schools in the district as well as bookstores at schools and libraries

This material is not right for kids. Or anybody else for that matter. Please stick to basics in education: science, math, real literature (not woke) and real history, not CRT.

I am not okay with the sexual themes that are within this book and ask that you remove it from the schools!!

There are other books that can be used without sexual themes for a high school reading list.

Calling a rock a stone doesn’t change the nature of what it is when you describe both; it’s obfuscation.

This is disgusting and disappointing. I can't believe an educator thought this was appropriate for young teens.

This was disturbing to read. When I realized that my daughter was assigned this book her freshman year at Empire I was even more outraged. She ran up to her room and brought it down to our dinner table discussion. She said, I didn’t even know what all that meant my freshman year!”

I want the mentioned book in the petition to be out of the reading

I’m surprised that Vail would allow teachers to assign sexually charged content to our kids. Please remove this book from the approved list immediately!
