Cayman did not have any laws to support Children of Abuse until 2012. There is alot of catching up to do and clearly these children need to know they are safe and protected.

RICPS has continued to fail us. Time and time again and it all gets pushed under the mat. I notice they enjoy doing the easy work.

The mother is an evil witch and should be punished for what she did to a child already suffering sexual abuse. This is wrong and she should be jailed for along time. Poor child will never recover.

I believe that this is unacceptable these are the people who are put to protect and serve us in times of need and if they fail to do the basics that cause this to happen and has overlooked this case for so long they aren't fit to but in a position of protection and serve. The island can not hope to get any better unless we can know and can believe that those who are watching out for us are actually doing that and that is one of the issues with the island in these present times.

We need justice on this one, people is going to take matters in there own hands, and for the mother she needs to be in jail for not putting her daughter first!! That's why it's good to know your kids, this way you can tell when something is not right

I am appalled at the injustice served here and I am signing this in hopes and prayers this is never ever an issue again. I have a young daughter that I pray will never know what it feels like to be raped and abused by anyone, then by the so called justice of this land. Please protect our children... Mine and yours.

I am deeply saddened by how this case was handled by the RCIP Officers involved. I am at a loss for words to explain the aching in my stomach for this child as a parent myself.

In this case, I feel that the court did not take the wellbeing of the child into primary consideration. Rather unfair technicalities dominated the circumstances without morality, which publicly disgraces us as a community unwilling to shoulder responsibility to protect ourselves and needlessly allowing such heinous crimes.
I certainly am not qualified to judge anyone or any legal system, but I continue to think why our judicial system would not have deferred the case until the police, the legal department and the responsible adults caring for the child were mandated by the court to do their jobs, upholding the law and protecting all of us. In my eyes everyone is at fault here.
If we compromise the wellbeing of our minors and our elderly, we have no stability as adults, a community or a nation no matter the prosperity . Without integrity, justice and wellbeing, there is nothing of substance within ourselves. It is apparent that wherever the child turns, there are no capable adults. How tragic and sorrowful a situation in a country that the rest of the world sees as prosperous.
In 35 years, I have seen this recurrence far too often and it repulses me. It's been many years since I publicly voiced my opinion, but this makes my blood boil! This judgment now sets precedent enabling further judicial anomalies. Personally, I think we would be better off without a police department and a legal system since neither serve any purpose. We could use the money elsewhere in the budget.

This injustice cannot go without investigation and accountability. A child's right to protection and peace have been stolen from her forever. We MUST learn from this horrible situation and STOP more children from being hurt by this incompetence.
