I don't know if firing is appropriate but this issue definitely warrants further investigation from an impartial party who does not have a personal relationship with Mr. Cabral or Mrs. Franco. Racism cannot be tolerated

This person is clearly uneducated. Too uneducated to be a principal at a school. Shouldn't a principal be someone students feel safe around? Get. Them. Out.

It would be in the school's best interest to stop trying to cover up these issues out of fear of bad publicity. The issue of Mr. Cabral's racist rant was immediately brought to the attention of administration. Administration did nothing but set up a sensitivity training workshop for faculty members. All faculty members were forced to participate due to the actions of one individual. Furthermore, it was common knowledge amongst some faculty members that the punishment that would be imposed upon Mr Cabral would be an apology to the faculty. There was no apology to the student population. Faculty members (and students alike) always have the opportunity to voice any civil rights concerns to the civil rights liaison. The liaison is now Rosanne Franco, the person responsible for the hiring and firing of faculty. There is a conflict of interest here. Additionally, she is not competent to understand and address these concerns. Furthermore, Ms. Franco's husband is a partner in the law firm that represents the school. Another blatant conflict of interest. We beg the school committee to protect our community and our students and take action against both Mrs Enos and Mrs Franco. GNB was once a respectable institution and now the ignorance of a few power hungry people are creating a hostile and toxic educational community. As a community member I demand more from those responsible for molding our children. Ms. Franco will return to Newport RI after her workday while I listen to our urban youth voice genuine, well founded concerns about her leadership and Influence in OUR community and school.

Racism should not be tolerated

Mrs.Franco is a power hungry dictating bully. In the last 4 years, since Mr.Shea's retirement, this school has gone from having a great working environment to a hell hole. Roseanne turned it into a toxic atmosphere. Faculty and student body distrust her and fear her abuse of actions . She has proven to be incapable of performing her duties in a fair or professional manner. With the Lino Cabal case, she not only failed to include the athletic director but she also intentionally withheld this information from the school committee. In addition to allowing Cabral's behavior, she also thought it was appropriate to refer to her soccer team as a "bunch of pussies" on the team bus. It is apparent that having your husband's law firm represent the school has its privileges. She has been allowed to behave in a manner that is less than acceptable amongst administraters and faculty for far too long. If Mrs. Franco had the student's best interest at heart she would follow Mr. Cabral's footsteps and resign from her position. Her decision making over the last four years has been self interesed and biased. It is my sincere hope that if she does not make this decision on her own that the school committee will step in. The negative effects she has had on the school have tarnished the schools reputation irreparably, leaving students and faculty disappointed with their GNBVT experience.

This is an outrage, I will not promote/support this school in any manner until this woman is either removed or she resigns...all lives matter!

My daughter goes to this school and I heard about the comments and I feel as though the principal should've done something and not been involved in disciplining. She should be reprimanded
