Citizens Demand Parking Changes in Hoboken

Don't be so quick to hate on the Hertz/ZIP cars. I would own a car and be competing with you for spaces if it weren't for the car share program. Given how difficult it occasionally is to get a car when I want it, I have to assume that there are many others like me.

Zip cars should go away from the streets!

For the amount of taxes we pay for this city, we deserve more and better public parking.

I once got a ticket in the mail and I know for a fact my wife and child were in the car at the time the ticket was "issued". It was not worth fighting because it would have cost me more.

With limited parking. Which idiot come up with the idea of putting the ugly jutters on the corners when the parkings are in great demand. Also when they take away street parking space from residents for whatever reason. They should have a designated location for parking. Unless they expect one to park their car in the next town over.

Can't visit my mother cause parking there us horrific.

My husband has experienced immense stress coming home from his 1 hour and 20 minute commute, only to spend another 20 to 45 minutes looking for street parking. We cannot afford to pay an additional $400+ per month for a garage parking spot. This has got to change. It's making my husband miserable and we've often discussed moving out of Hoboken, just because of the parking situation. This petition perfectly highlights some easy changes that could make our daily lives better.

I left Hoboken due in part to the HORRIFIC parking situation. Rent is exorbitant, the roads and infrastructure are crumbling and yet you still take away spaces? Makes absolutely no sense. Agree with EVERYTHING here.

I agree, I ride a bike and any way you look at it Hoboken streets are too narrow so I will ride on the sidewalk. And oh, I was car doored and could have been seriously hurt by oncoming traffic. So now when I can I will ride on the sidewalk but come to a stop when I pass pedestrians.

I have lived and had a car in Hoboken for 30 years and things have never been as bad as they are now. It's as if the current administration is making life miserable for car owners so people will get rid of their cars. My biggest grip (among many) and I may be in the minority is current policy of not parking two freakin car lengths to the intersection. I think it's much too much. I lived in Hoboken when people would park to the intersection and of course feel that this was out of control. I was even in a car accident due to the fact that the driver who had a stop sign couldn't see beyond the car parked to the intersection and came out and struck my car. I get it, but TWO car lengths i s unnecessary. It's a state law? That maybe fine for the burbs but in Hoboken we need the parking. How many parking spaces were removed during working hours because of this?

I fully support this, the present administration has not created one parking space but has removed 100s. Change is needed.

i agree. Parking in Hoboken is hands down the worst experience in driving. The construction nonsense in midtown is causing all sorts of traffic.

I live in Jersey City but I am in Hoboken for many different reasons. I am currently fighting a street cleaning ticket for pulling over to drop someone off. In fact, I was directly behind the street cleaner. The ticket agent was behind the street cleaner...hopefully I can get this cleared up!

hoboken parking gotten so bad I would rather travel to jersey city. Which is sad as Jersey City is not a place a frequented often until hoboken went from bad to worse
