Should not be allowed. It's currently used by tax paying locals who will be unable to use it any more and the mess we always see from travelers will be enormous. This is a residential area, this should not have to be tolerated.

No travellers in the car park. They camped out a few years ago. What a mess they left which was cleared in no time at a cost to us tax payers...ridiculous idea to have them here permanently

There are many events held at the park from fishing to the Dragon Boat race. Everytime we go this car park is full and will be greatly missed by many if this goes ahead.

Why use somewhere that is used daily ! There is plenty of un used land where the travellors can be accomodated.

This is a disgrace, i have nothing at all against the travelling community. However,this is not a good place to site a gypsy camp. There are far more suitable places within tyne and wear to accommodate them, what about all the disused land at hendon sunderland next to the gas works, lots of land and in an easy accesible place. Please reconsider and do not turn hetton park into a gypsy camp

A gypsy camp will spoil the beauty of the lake and stop the enjoyment of fishermen and walkers as they will make it a no go area

I have fished the Stephenson lake previously on day ticket. This would stop people fishing it if no access.
