Why ruin a beautiful country park that's for everyone by putting a gypsy site on it, totally wrong !!!!

This would deny access to part of the park and lose also parking for the park which is in limited supply in the area. The area has limited facilities such as the park, and as a parent of 3 young children removing that access point in to the park would have a direct impact; rather than being able to walk to the local park we would have to drive to get to the nearest entrance. Ultimately, if I have to do that then we may as well go somewhere else.

This plan will destroy wild life. We see two herrons in the field right next to where it will be. This is the access route we use to walk from our house to the park. It will affect the natural atmosphere of Hetton Lyons park.

Hetton has enough problems that police and council can't handle without having a gypsy site...

A travellers site would not only ruin the Angling club, it will also damage the park, local businesses and residential areas in the close vicinity. The crime rate will also soar.

i use the park for walking and running. its a well kept well used and highly thought of area. the car park is often busy, surely there are sites that would cause less disruption

This is a well used well kept area. Used and enjoyed by people from the local area who pay for it within their taxes. Any decision to remove this from their use to give to those who will only take from our area is scandalous.

What a ridiculous notion to take away sporting facility car parking.

Wrong site. Nothing against travellers, but wrong site.

Disgrace that this is being thought of as an option. I fear that the impact won't just be limited to this site if it's going to be used for this purpose too.

Its a disgrace. I bring my disabled mum to the car park every day to look at that particular pond as it was where my dad used to go every day to chat to the guys fishing. He died last year and we have been coming every day since. If they took it away she would never come back as it would be too far to walk. Along with that, what about the effect the travellers would have on the environment, the fish stock would disappear along with swans and ducks there. I don't know who proposed this but they need to be assessed for mental health issues!!!! What were they thinking

Very disappointed at Sunderland Council and their inability to provide information in an adequate way to the people who pay their council taxes. I fully support the angling club in their comments but also want to add that by closing this entrance the council are effectively blocking access to families who use this entrance and line in the Easington Lane and Pearson estate area of the town.
