This is my history, 1 through 3 grade I attended. Schools were not as they are now. You had your black schools and you had your white school. Please don't destroy my history.

The town of Edenton saved Ernest A. Swain ESPN, the same should be done for D. Walker. It was the school for black people back in the day. So why not do the for a school named for a black educator.

I went to school at DF Walker from 1st thru 6 back in the 60's if this school can still prove as a safe heaven for our kids with positive actives then I pray your town government will keep this school

D.F. Walker is an educational institution! Many students have walked those halls, opened their books in the classrooms and got a long lasting education from professional educated who cared about all of us. Keep these doors for future generations!!!

D.F.Walker is a historic and iconic landmark that must be preserved! This structure has and always will be a significant monument in the African American community. It is an integral part of our heritage. Our numerous contributions to the building of the foundation of this country as well as this Town, have already been minimalized and omitted in the history books. It's time to go the right thing by allowing this historic structure to remain in place to tell it's story to those generations yet to come. Myself and many other D. F. Walker alumni strongly urge the preservation of this building! History Stays.
