The Historic District of Bedford has always represented the pioneering and enterprising spirit of the founders of the city. The unique flare of the shops represented downtown are what make it the #8 most beautiful down town in America. To put any store like this would only hurt those shops that help the down town area thrive. There are plenty of other areas in Bedford that could use the lift that a Dolor Store, or other stores like it, but the Historic District is NOT one of them.

Bedford should be reaching out to business that appeal to the image Bedford is trying to achieve. In the heart of Bedford is a beautiful historic district that has received national accolades. Since this is the jewel of Bedford, do we really want a cornerstone business to be that of a deep discount "Dollar Store". Not that these types of stores aren't important, but not in downtown.

We DO NOT need another dollar store in Bedford. What are we trying to match the amount of tattoo parlours we have? How about something with a little class?

We do not need another "dollar" store in Bedford. We already have Family Dollar which is enough. We need to have a good food establishment move in like the Winking Lizard whom every NE Ohioian enjoys.

Please find a different area to build or place a dollar general.

Dollar General is not needed at that location. There is a dollar store at Northfield and Columbus and also in Maple at Northfield near Rockside.

You can either keep the character of 'historic Bedford', and build a revival around the community. Or you can 'dummy down' the neighborhood, and bring in a symbol of every other failed commercial district. This is a terrible use of that space, and I urge you to rethink this decision. Don't bring Dollar General, (or any other cheap, discount chain store, for that matter), into the Historic Downtown Bedford district.

Please protect the beauty of the historic downtown by being mindful of what businesses open there. We need to be progressive, not regressive. We need to focus on specialty businesses that other communities travel to (Half Priced Books, etc.). No one will be driving to our wonderful city to go to our.... dollar store. It's an eyesore and frankly unnecessary- We have dollar stores throughout this city and those adjacent to it- We do not need it in the historic district.

I do not object to business in downtown Bedford. I think that we should preserve the Mystique of downtown Bedford to host a business that is suitable for it. In my opinion a dollar store does not meet that criteria.

Dollar stores are nice, but NOT in downtown Bedford! We need something that will in some way enhance the downtown Bedford strip. Something that will bring more people to downtown Bedford, not for cheep bargains but to enhance the experience of being a Bedford resident or visitor. We need something more "upscale" not bargain basement!
