Dan and Sasha are both talented artists and give so much to the entire Muscota community. I can't imagine the school without them!

Music and art are integral parts of Muscota. They've been central to my son's learning for his three years at Muscota--and never more important than during remote learning this past spring. I would say that Dan's lessons and town halls in the midst of the pandemic crisis were one of the main things that kept my son feeling connected to his school community, feeling joyful about learning, and inspired to participate. As the pandemic continues, we need Dan and Sasha more than ever!

It would break the kids hearts to not have Dan and Sasha return to Muscota this year. During this difficult time for our children they need Dan and Sasha more than ever. Dan, in particular is really the drum beat of the school. When I ask my daughter what makes Muscota so awesome, Dan is one of the top three reasons. He is an incredible music teacher but so much more to our kids and the school community.

Arts curriculum is a vital part of our child’s education in the best of times. This year, with the world being in its current state, this educational component and emotional outlet is more important than ever. Our kids need the ability to process their emotions through the arts. Their classroom experience is very different. Their interactions with teachers and friends are very different. Their lives are very different. They need this.

I and my kid are very shocked to hear the news that Dan and Sasha may not be able to continue teaching at Muscota New School. Dan and Sasha have contributed to Muscota New School for many years to be a special place for children, and it's very sad for us to think that children studying at Muscota will not be able to enjoy their magical classes. Many children are psychologically upset under the current circumstances, and the children need Dan and Sasha like never before!
