NYS Senator Hiram Monserrate was arrested on Dec. 19, 2008, shortly after his companion, Karla Giraldo, 30, appeared at Long Island Jewish Medical Center bleeding and distraught, saying he had attacked her at his home, according to court documents. Part of this event was caught on camera.
Monserrate's trial is now over and he has been found guilty of some of the charges. That he was not found guilty of all some think to be a travesty of justice.
Monserrate should resign from office.
Please let him know by signing this petition.
The weight of this situation is heavy and the road ahead feels far too long. I have spent the last few days reading your messages and they remind me why this work is worth the exhaustion.

So sick of seeing these politicians think they are above the law. Do the right thing and step down.

He belongs in jail not the senate. Unbelievable that he thinks he can just keep his job like nothing happened.

How is he still in office after everything that happened? Disgraceful.
