People have waited years to see the Hippodrome in Bo'ness re-opened. It has been opened nearly a year now, and is failing badly due to the way it is being run by the council. it has had millions of pounds injected into it, and is still being heavily funded, 90% of showings are running on a loss i find it quite sad that people in Bo'ness still don't even know it is even open! knowone when the films are on (there isn't even a sign outside to say "what's on") there is loads of white A4 pieces of paper stuck all over the windows which is complicated & messy. The councill will not allow any entertainment on e.g Comedian, singer. I fear that if the councill does not change their ways with the Hippodrome now, we will see it shut back down within a couple of years , and i wouldn't be surprised if it got turned into a wetherspoons or worse, shut down for another 20 years. If you would like to see Live entertainment on in the theatre and actually become a community theatre please sign this petition which will be getting passed on to Falkirk Councill, The Lottery fund & all other investors. PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO AS MANY PEOPLE IN THE AREA AND PEOPLE WHOF EEL THE SAME ABOUT THE HIPPODROME IN BO'NESS.

RESPONE TO LESLEY O'HARE'S JOURNAL COMMENTS:

Bo'ness means business are not "backing" the hippodrome, they were asked what they thought of the hippodrome, and they replied along the lines of " we support anything that brings people to Bo'ness." They are by no means backing the way the Hippodrome is being run, and all the "ins & outs".

"She defended it's extensive marketing that included listing guides and programme drops, and said a recent survey of Bo'ness youngsters
showed a high awareness of the Hippodrome."

The word "extensive" means over a broad area, listing guides and programme drops are not even basic advertising.
Extensive advertising should include Posters, leaflets, Programmes, website, Radio , Newspaper. The Hippodrome do not even have their own website.

A survey of awareness is the wrong type of survey to be asking young ones, they should be asking the youngsters in Bo'ness how many of them have actually went to the Hippodrome.
