Promoting Hindi in Australia signals Australia's sincerity in seeking deeper ties with India. It is also important to promote Hindi in order to recognise significant contributions from Hindi speaking community to this country.

I would like to know the basis of selecting the above languages and how they are more important in hindi. I hope that the Australian government realises that Indian and Australian trade ties are likely to increase in the future and not exclude hindi from the languages supported by the new programme.

Hindi is an extremely important language and is the 2nd largest spoken language in the world. Good to realise these facts and give the chance to Australian Kids to learn Hindi.

India as one of the countries we (Auatralia) wants to forge a relationship with than why is it not important to have the language. We teach Mandarin don't we? Australia has always been a fair country not any more it would seem.
