Technically, I'm a parent of former students at Hill House, but I one of many re-patriated Americans who dream of having their children commute back to the school because we miss it so much.

I have 4 children attending the school and I strongly agree with the above petition. I don't understand how the Ofsted inspectors rated the school "inadequate" in all domains. Does that mean nothing works? Thde report would have been more credible if it was more balanced!

Our three children have had an excellent education at Hill House and the school has become part of our life, with so many fond memories, close friends, while excellent academic results are almost taken for granted! HH's sport, music, drama and art programmes are legendary and the tutors are some of the kindest and most attentive people you would hope to meet. It is safe to let children into Grade 1 listed properties!

In all likelihood the report must have ulterior motives. There is no better endorsment of the school than seeing your child with a smile on his face every morning.

I was shocked to read the article in Evening Standard, especially the fact that the report criticised standards in math and writing. This is clearly untrue as most children from Hill House go to best secondary schools in the country after sitting very competitive exams and interviews. As a parent of an ex-pupil, who went to Hill House from 4 to 11 and is now in one of the top London girls schools , I can confidently state that Hill House does prepare its pupils for the rigorous competition to get into those schools. The teachers are excellent and not only prepare the pupils but give them the best possible advise as to which schools to apply to and how to get in. While my daughter was in Hill House, she is now 14, neither her or I had any complaints about the standards of educate or pastoral care . Children do enjoy every day in school, as they not only learn academic subjects, but have a great variety of extra-curriculum activities, travel to Switzerland and leave school as mature, well-rounded, well-mannered and confident young people. The report is malicious and fictitious and one can't help but think of "Bonfire of Vanities", where school is being vilified because it is a private school (as oppose to state school), because it is situated in Knightsbridge in the proximity of Harrods (and that's why the uniforms are being sold there, but there are second hand school uniforms sales) , because uniforms are a sign of equality between pupils, who should compete in academic achievements and now how they are dressed, and because Prince Charles went there, and as a result, vilifying such school would make "smashing" headlines in national press. If there is a problem with fire exits , as the building is over 200 years old - Jane Austin lived just next door, then it can be easily solved by builders, but there is certainly not a good enough reason to vilify the good name and high academic standards of a well respected and well loved school by thousands and thousands of

The report is badly written, there is little fact-based evidence to support the conclusions reache, and appears to have pre-judged the outcome based on inappropriate criteria. Yes the school is a bit quirky, and it does not tick all the HSE boxes. But it has a special ethos, it is culturally extremely diverse, it teaches good manners and tolerance, and it teaches the children how to cross busy roads in central London. Our 3 children had a fantastic experience and a good education, all going on to very good secondary schools. Admittedly the last one left three years ago, so things may have changed but not to this extent.

Having had four children that attended Hill House over the last twelve years, we have always been positively impressed with the school. We are extremely surprised with the Ofsted report and are convinced of the outstanding standard of the school in terms of academic teaching and self-confidence brought to our children.

I have two children, a girl in her final year at Hill House and a boy who was there from the ages of 4 to 13. They have loved every minute at the school and the report is totally at odds with our experience of the school. They have found the teaching inspirational and the school stimulating and nurturing. I was truly in disbelief when I read the articles in the newspapers and the report.

Both of my daughters enjoyed their time at Hill House and were very well prepared for all aspects of senior school life. My youngest daughter left last year. Coincidently the state school ( X) which I attended and enjoyed, although not at exactly comparable ages, was assessed on the same dates and received a 2 (Good) on all measures. However the data from the Parents View section of the Ofsted website paints a completely different picture of both schools. The percentage of parents of pupils at X, when asked if their child was happy and separately, if they felt safe, strongly agreed 54% and 61% respectively, compared to 92% and 84% at Hill House. On the questions of whether they were well taught, had homework appropriate to their age and were making good progress the comparable numbers were 22%,19% and 31% against 71%,74% and 75% at Hill House. On whether the children were well looked after and well behaved (which Ofsted does mention about Hill House) the comparable percentages strongly agreeing were 43% and 19% at X against 80% and 95% at Hill House. Clearly Ofsted does not listen to the views of parents, or if they do listen ,they ignore them. Ofsted's moto is "Raising standards, improving lives ", clearly the vast majority of parents on the Parents View section of the Ofsted website and in the comments here believe this to be true of Hill House. Ofsted should question its own assessment criteria where a school that can be graded 2 has only 22% of parents strongly believing that their children are well taught compared to one which is graded a 4, where 71% strongly agreed that they are well taught and 96% agree strongly or agree that they are well taught.

Hill House is a really unique school where children really enjoy learning. Both my children loved being at the school and did so well there both getting scholarships to their first choice of school. When reading the Ofsted report I did not recognise the school we love.

We have been Hill House parents for the past 5 years and planned a very complicated moved back to the UK from the Middle East just so our son was able begin his education at the Hill House nursery. Having the opportunity to attend an international school with a fantastic education is why we made many difficult sacrifices in order for him to have this unique education. Since starting in 2010, my son has grown up to be a caring, intelligent and happy child. The friendships he has made at school are deep and the parents we've met though the school have been fantastic. We have a very international background, and cannot think of a better school in London that fits our outlook on the world. We very much hope the Hill House leadership is able to constructively take on and tackle the criticisms from Ofsted and overcome this report. We are rooting for you!

Hill House is a great school in all the areas for children and the offsets report seem to be ridiculous. I hope the problem will be resolved soo and HH will keep graduating kids with excellent results in all the ways.
