My partner Ghizlan and I have 2 girls at the Small school and Lower school. We are very happy with their progress and achievements. The Ofsted report may highlight some areas where the school can effect improvements but the overall conclusion of inadequate in every area simple beggars belief.

The report is a disgrace and in no way represents this fantastic and insporational school

Prior to enrolling our children at Hill House, we researched several primary schools in the area. Like most parents we were looking for a school with a happy environment, high academic performance and good sporting and extra-curricular activities. Surprisingly, the majority of the schools we looked at were strong in one or two areas but weak in others. Hill House was arguably the only school that met all of our criteria. We subsequently, enrolled out first son who is now in year two and last year our second joined in reception. Our two younger children are expected to join over the next three years. Since our children started attending Hill House, our experience has been in keeping with our expectations. The academic performance has been very good and the children have enjoyed and thrived in the environment. Even our second son, who struggled at nursery, has really taken to Hill House and has blossomed markedly since joining. We were therefore quite stunned with Ofsted’s recent assessment of Hill House as Inadequate! This does not bear any semblance to the school our children have attended for the past three years. We must call into question the credibility of a report that is at such variance with our first-hand experience of the school and reads like a personal grudge. Furthermore, since the publication of the report, as concerned parents, we have taken the time to speak to other parents at the school and have found that the overwhelming majority are of a similar view to ours. We would like to think that, as parents with an intimate knowledge of the school, we cannot all be mistaken. As such we believe that there is a need for an urgent review of the recent Ofsted assessment.

Our son is happy and thriving at Hill House (after failing and being written off at his previous pre-prep). I can't recommend Hill House enough and believe this most recent OFSTED report to be deeply flawed.

If you wish to read of some teachers' experiences of OFSTED, I recommend this https://community.tes.co.uk/tes_ofsted_inspections/f/23/t/420.aspx?pi2132219857=1. It puts the whole thing into perspective.

Completely disagree with the report... Hill House stands out as a great school with super results. Don't want to bring a conspiracy there but the report is suspiciously fishy and absolutely wrong.

A literally incredible report. The findings are so far from reality that it can only be born of incompetence.

As a mother of a 5yr old boy at Hill House I am extremely happy with the care and development he's receiving and achieving. Hill House represents all the best in International cultural values - respect for others, good manners, kindness and consideration and a well-rounded approach to education, which includes both the arts and academia. I am proud of Hill House and everything it stands up for and I am over the moon that my little boy is a Hill House boy. I wish every child had the same opportunities as these children. It is also interesting to note that many of the staff and teachers have been there for a considerable amount of time so the continuity of excellence is guaranteed. Thank you to everyone that makes Hill House such a wonderful school.

Many moons ago I came across this quote when I was pretending to study for my O-level ‘Examinations are formidable even to the best prepared, for the greatest fool may ask more than the wisest man can answer’.
I do not agree with the comments from OFSTED based on my daughter's experience at Hill House. She looks forward to going to school each day and her interest in learning is encouraged through her lessons.

We, the parents of Hill House , find unacceptable the bureaucratic outrage unleashed upon Hill House School that is much loved by its pupils , their parents and teachers. The most unpleasant thing is to find out that OFSTED ( a government body) inspections are "carried out by inspectors employed by external companies who are NOT qualified to teach." ( Exley, Stephen, 27July 2012, "Inspectors unqualified to teach sit in judgment", TES connect, online magazine, https://www.tes.co.uk/article.aspx?storycode=6263276 ) . "Ofsted contractor employs staff without QTS (a basic teacher qualification) to run inspections. Senior Ofsted inspectors have been allowed to pass judgement on schools despite lacking even basic teaching qualifications, TES has learned." (same article, Exley) So, sometimes the right question to ask is "Who is the judge?". Is there any conflict of interest hidden somewhere? Scary stuff....

Every student takes something special away with them upon graduation. The teachers, the buildings, the close-knit community that Hill House offers is special. The experience, education and companionship gained by myself and many friends at the school will stay with us forever. Hill House may not fit the mould that OFSTED have set out but it's the uniqueness of the school that is one of it's most attractive elements.
