Dear Umanitoba Instagram page admin,
I require you fix the caption regarding the post on Hijab Day reading as: “Did you know it's a woman's personal choice to wear a hijab?” This statement needs more clarification as it is absolutely false in its current form, based on the following conclusive facts: 1-Hijab is an obligation by Quran which is the highest authority in both religious and legal matters in Islam. 2-There are millions of women in the world who are obliged to practice Hijab unlike their personal wish. The particular statement at Umanitoba Instagram post is disrespectful and hurtful to many women who have been forced into practicing Hijab. It is repulsing and heartbreaking for lots of us who fled the Sharia-law enforced discrimination and oppression in our nations, immigrating to Canada to live a descent life in an egalitarian society. As a public secular institution, U of Manitoba with its 15k plus follower Instagram page, should respect all entities equally regardless of their race, gender, and religion. I support absolutely anyone who wants to practice their religious dress-codes, but spreading false bigoted information is not tolerated under any circumstances.
