How many more injuries and deaths must occur in this stretch of highway before ODOT takes action? Please sign this petition to end the dangerous conditions on US 27 aka "the highway to heaven". Once complete the petition will be forwarded to ODOT demanding action. We propose extending the current grass median located just north of the Ross exit to kirchling road to cut down on head on collisions, injuries, and deaths in this area.

I spent the entire morning staring at the traffic reports for that stretch by Ross and honestly it just makes my stomach turn thinking about another accident happening there while we sit and wait for them to act. A few people reached out today with their own scary stories about that road and it really hammers home why we have to keep pushing until that median gets extended.

We live in the Millville area. I retired from teaching at Elda in Ross in 2012. I have worried about drivers on US 27 since we moved here in 1992. I always fear that one of my former students will be involved in an accident. When I hear the sirens, my heart always drops. Please prioritize the repairs of this road.
As both of my kids reach driving age, I'm considering moving away from Ross just so they can avoid this road. I've been in many near misses with distracted drivers coming the other way.
It is dangerous and traveled by so many students and families. There are many subdivisions off of this road. As it continues north to Miami Univ. there were so many accidents and deaths that finally the road was widened there, but it also needs to be widened farther south near the Ross exit!
This road scares me always ....there was a three car pile up because of turning into a School third car struck the second stopped car an went up an under the second car,I want to see many changes,Flashing light by school..extend grass or width of lanes to wider.
My son and I were hit head on when a driver crossed the center lane, February 14, 2014. If the grass median were extended to kirchling road, my accident would never have happened and I wouldn't have mild traumatic brain injury.
Please fix this road to many lives have been taken on this highway it's time to fix it
Please fix the two lane highway so that is safe for the amount of traffic it sees Dailey.

This needs to happen. Too much is at stake. Every time I witness a wreck my heart sinks. Many times it's during the time parents are heading home from picking up school children. I'm especially worried for my own teen drivers. If the leadership in this community plans to continue the residential and economic growth, improved infrastructure must be addressed.
