The law changed today and rural co-ops finally have the green light to bring internet to our neighborhoods. It was a long road to get here but we proved that persistence works. Keep an eye on your local provider to ensure they follow through on this promise.
The hurdles in front of us are exhausting and sometimes it feels like we are shouting into the wind. Despite the silence from the people in positions of power I am not walking away from this fight.

I have to use my hotspot with Cspire for internet at home and if you know Cspire you never know if you’re going to have service or not. I have to wait till I get to work to download my son’s homework assignment off the web. We need this so badly.

This is a huge issue in Mississippi. We live in Forrest County and our internet choices are severely limited, and all of them poor quality. None of the large phone or cable providers are willing to invest in the infrastructure required to provide broadband internet in rural areas.

Greene County has horrible internet service through TDS and they aren’t willing to resolve the issues. I’m a the school district’s Director of Technology and I realize that the county is in desperate need for a reliable internet service.

I have had the pleasure of serving in mostly rural congregations but one of the biggest struggles is the unavailability of high-speed internet access. This would be a game changer for schools and people in general.
