I was not granted my perfect attendance for being taken out of school 2 and half hours early. I had only missed one class period and during that time the students were only watching the movie Napoleon Dynamite. My mother beganemailing the principal and attendance lady, but they both declined my desire for perfect attendance. I have never been late to school and rarely ever leave school, but in order to receive this accomplishment, one must be at school all day everyday. But this rule only applies to high school, I would like the attendance count be in the same affect as the middle schools follow. Which is that if the student is at school for the second period attendance, everyday of the school year then they will receive perfect attendance. This petition is for me a 14 year old freshman, who truly believes I earned my attendance and wish that they would change their policy so I would recieve my perfect attendance

Seeing so many of you connect with my story makes me feel less alone in this frustration. It is validating to know that others agree a few hours should not erase an entire year of hard work.

I feel it is completely unprofessional to not inform this family of the consequences of leaving early, due to the error of not providing this information the student should not be punished. Change the rules for attendance and grant the student "perfect attendance".
Grace Foust was with her family helping them move her brother, so this should be considered as needed family time. Thank you.
I do believe that the policy should be changed, it is ridiculous that they only mist 2 hours of school and don't have perfect attendance
I think it's sad that so much is done for those that fall behind, but the same enthusiasm isn't shown to the students that go above and beyond.
Wrong, Perfect attendance means being there for every class. If one teacher has marked you absent even for only one class you should not receive your reward. Its not fair to the people who actually stayed in school in their classes. Welcome To HighSchool!
Grace is a smart, responsible and outgoing girl and will be a shamed that she will be denied perfect attendance for missing 4th period.

Grace is a responsible girl who has a bright future ahead of her. She had set a goal fir her self to obtain perfect attendance through out all 4 years of highschool. She is deserving of having perfect attendance. Her 4th period class was going to be watching a movie, it would be absurd for not to obtain perfect attendance.
