I need this! most of my family is coming for a summer event, and they wouldn't be able to come see the graduation if it's indoors

Admin has switched the time due to cappies, but they have failed to acknowledge that, If the performers are nominated for awards they will be there all day.

First of all, none of the drama students had any say in the date switch. This was all the work of the administration, so don't blame them. Also Cappies is a special event for all involved in the spring musical, so don't be up in arms about it. But I second the idea of switching the date, but if that's not doable at least let us have it outside. No one wants graduation in the gym unless it's absolutely necessary. From what I've heard from my band director, is that there have been way worse years with heat, and we haven't had any of those in the last 3. Thank you.

We deserve to have a traditional graduation outside on the football field. The only reason it's been moved inside previous years is due to rain. A heat warning cannot be predicted a year in advance anyways. If Cappies is scheduled for the same day as graduation, then the graduation date should be changed, not the time and location.

Why would they move the entire graduation in case a few people might have the Cappies? They were the ones who chose the conflicting graduation date in the first place.

It should be OUTSIDE!! does not matter what day or time as long as it's outside, so we can have more family able to come!!

Exactly! That's why we're trying to get the date moved or at least have it be outside. It's no students fault, it was just a poorly chosen decision made by administration.

I'd love for it to be outside, however, as a friend of many drama people, do not blame this on them... Sports has had the same special treatment... And everyone deserves to be at graduation, and not have to chose between two special events...

I just honestly want it to be outside--I could not care less about the date but I do have a lot of friends who do spring sports and who are in the drama department so please remember them!! I also realize that this is a lottery system and that the date will probably not be able to be changed but at least put outside would be nice :)

Do not base a decision about an event a full year in advance. No one knows the weather a year from now.
