HGV Ban for Wilford Lane

We are already plagued by HGV's on Wilford Lane, I worry about structural damage and the environment. I support this ban.

The Heavyweight Traffic is already Dangerous for the Families and the Elderly, something should Definitely looked at. Certainly No More

The road is too narrow for HGVs especially where vehicles park on-road.

Of course, the traffic has to go somewhere. You don't want it on Wilford Lane, but then nobody else wants extra traffic, extra fumes or extra delays, no matter where they live. Unfortunately, wherever it goes, all the same problems go with it. NIMBYism has it's price.

Wilford Lane is a major route in this area and is being used like an A road with ever increasing traffic and HGVs

I live locally and the volume of traffic from HGVs is clearly increasing along Wilford Lane. There is an obvious increased risk to health and safety given the correlation of diesel fuelled vehicles and HGVs. Anything that would further exacerbate these existing conditions, such as the potential for a short cut route mentioned above, must and should be avoided.

I’ve lived on the lane for over 33 years and the changes to the area in that time are immense especially effecting the volume of traffic, it’s more like a motorway than a lane now

I have to turn left in order to drive to the right

Crossing the road on foot, and pulling out in a car onto the lane, are very difficult at peak times. Suggest more lights and pedestrian crossings in addition to the proposed HGV ban.

The Lane is already overused. A new supermarket and housing is planned for the old Chateau site so normal use will no doubt increase substantially without any diverted traffic

There are already too many lorries on this B road.

Wilford Lane is unarguably unsuitable for the heavy vehicles currently using it.

As well as stopping heavy goods vehicles on Wilford lane they should stop them using Compton acres and rugby road as a cut through

This road is already very busy with heavy traffic and delays near the tram stop and with the addition of building work for the new supermarket and old people’s flats it will cause untold misery and pollution for local residents once the road improvements on A52 begin. Please stop the HGVs
