Yes those retards in opposite world need to wake up before they are ALL out of a job. Breeding reptiles won't make them extinct - stop trying to control everybody and get into line with the rest of the world and Australia. People can keep many pets in WA except the third most common world wide pet - central Bearded Dragon - what a load of misguided BS. Get rid of these retard officials. Take this petition higher and sack the idiots that try and keep the ridiculous situation that currently exists going.

Please do some research and come into line with the rest of Australia. I know we are miles away from the other side but really do we need to be backwards as well. WA = Wait Awhile. lets change this, lets be in front of the East for once. Tracey H

You need to take the petition higher than the environment minister. He is just a pretty face and hasn't a clue about our native fauna. Just rhymes off the spiel DPaW give him.

The archaic system and legislation is run by people who do not have an insite into the hobby. They're nearly paper pushers administrating something they don't understand.

The authorities really need to use data from research and not emotional feelings when deciding legislation. Compare yourselves with Western Countries and then work out why your laws seem petty and naive with zero conservation value. Why not stop all fishing and all hunting too if responsible utilization of natural resources is not possible. Surely what is good for one group should be good for all Australians? Sit down with responsible role players and work out a solution that works for everyone.

Western Australian has been leading the world for the standards in conservation and environmental management. The current herpetofauna keeping system however, has been left primarily disregarded and ignored. If Western Australia is to match the rest of the nation, which clearly considers their captive herpetofauna in higher regards, then we must change for the benefit of our wildlife and the overall ecology.

I don't understand why we are limited to one clutch. As a hobby it should not be restricted unless you reach a business level. I also don't understand why wa is always so restricted compared to our other states.

Changes need to be made. Our system is a joke to the rest of the country. I'm all for looking after our endemic wildlife and making sure it isn't exploited, but the system still needs to be fair on the public it has been designed for. It seems they were never actually taken into consideration, and a lot of the regulations were put place as a means to generate income for the department.

It seems pointless to restrict the species even with cautions. Maybe something else could be implemented if a taker kept breaking the rules but this just seems pointless
