Why it has been removed/not included in the project is really beyond me. I love coming for jacuzzi/sauna, it's really helps in recovery process. And actually I was looking forward to the redevelopment since I thought we were going to get all the problems such as sauna temperature, cleanleness issues sorted. Next time my tooth hurts I will do the same, ask my dentist to remove it.

Excited about new development, but I feel that an improved health-suite would improve the overall experience.

Would be a great shame to see this communial sauna area removed. It is quality time that a few of us have to sit, chill and chat.

Me and a small group of others recognised the value that was generated in the mixed health suite. It will greatly detract from the overall experience the Herons seeks to provide if that is lost.

I joined Herons with my girlfriend and I'm sorry to hear we will not be able to jointly spend time in the Jacuzzi and steam room.

I find it pretty outrageous that my wife and I signed up for membership last week, and yet during the entire 30min, and otherwise VERY detailed, discussion the redevelopment process was not mentioned once! I was very surprised to hear that the health suite will be being closed during the "Redevelopment". I will be extremely upset with DC leisure if this petition is not considered.

As an interior design architect working in Haslemere and one that uses the health suite very regularly I am extremely angered by the new proposed plans to the health suite. I have studied the proposed plans and can think of many ways to upgrade the facilities and improve the use of the changing room space whilst still maintaing a health suite. Our Design studio is more than willing to offer a a free design consultation service if WBC wish to contact us! Sahran @ the Silkroad, Weyhill

Why do councils invest in public enquiries then ignore them?

we should be asked what we want, at the end of the day we are using these premisses and we are not living in a communist country, are we?

It is quite unfortunate that Kinetica, being sustained by public money, has rather inadequate management. The policy seems to be that of making some little pocket money out of injected public money, rather than providing the best possible service to this community and instilling a culture of healthy exercise and interaction among members.
The most evident example was the loss of proper food being served in the cafe: instead, we have now those red chairs where small children are not allowed and even a decent salad or basic fish and chips are a problem. In result it has no family orientation and therefore is not fit to purpose.
The existing facilities are not run properly. For example, the premises are not as clean as they should be. The rules of communal healthy exercise should be actively pursued and taught, rather than just forgotten in small print. To repair that drinking fountain takes months. Plastic cups for drinking water that cost nothing were removed long time ago – probably, for some money saving exercise. Some and especially new members regularly come in in dirty shoes and never get a word of caution (we all breeze by that dog-shit coming off those soles). The air conditioning being maintained and used inadequately so in some places it is simply feels too cold and droughty (bikes, rowing machines) – while in other places the conditioning and the ventilation is often switched off (men’s changing room).
The health suite, as well as the café, should be in centre of the management focus. To downsize the health suite is a very short-sighted idea, as many members come not for gym as much as for interaction with other people. The combination of exercise and interaction is what makes a good fitness centre tick and motivating – not just the equipment.
Finally, the gender segregation – personally I find this as unacceptable for a Christian community as gender segregation in a local church. I hope we are not run by sharia law yet in this country and such idea

The Health Suite's focus on rest & relaxation is a very important factor in health & well being, making it a very valuable amenity in the community. The use of Heat is widely accepted as beneficial to rest, relaxation, recovery/healing from both physical and emotional stress and in aiding detoxification. Commercially The Herons is operating in an environment where other private sports centres operate offering these facilities and its important these are available to the broader community. Two decades of yoga teaching have shown me vividly the benefits rest and relaxation can bring to the local community, interestingly relaxation is now being adopted widely by the NHS in their provision of health care nationally.
