The ride supports and honours the many men and women who have served and those who have returned only to take the final drive down the Highway of Heroes. Port Hope should live up to its name and let the ride run to give them Hope.

This is event simply needs to happen. Not a decision that only a few people should try to ruin for all. Show some respect to our veterans and those who want to highlight them!

Shame on anyone who denies the recognition of our troops. Summerside PEI gets it. They took over Atlanticade which is a huge motorcycle rally after Moncton decided to not hold it. Summerside businesses profit extremely well. There are a lot of baby boomers with disposable income buying bikes and "bikers" are some of the biggest spenders.

Wow! Is port hope so greedy and selfish that this is even an issue!? Once again the almighty dollar comes first above all!!! Shame on you!! I personally would like to know what businesses downtown are against this amazing cause, so i know where not to ahop in the future

Great initiative! If the Municipality has reservations around holding in the downtown core....then potentially hold it at the fairgrounds. Port hope needa to allow this to happen.

As a branch of the government ( although a small one at that) you should be ashamed of how you are treating veterans and this town. Port hope needs to keep up with times and realize that "bikers" are heavily stereotyped, when in fact they do plenty of generous charity work. This would not only show this towns support for veterans (especially those who reside in this town) but it would help boost this towns economy and tourism....... GROW UP!

Live in Port Hope....shop downtown regularly.....felt Honored to live in a Town chosen for such a fantastic cause. I would gladly volunteer on this day to help alieveate costs. My Husband served for 22yrs.....my son served for 20yrs...recently medically erased due to PTSD. Looking forward to this event.

If council cold see the faces of not only the Veterans but of the participants as well as the number of people along the way that have Canadian flags waving, young and old it certainly is a small 'inconvenience' for the town of Port Hope to host this event that if nothing else lifts the spirits of the Veterans that may feel that their sacrifices have gone unnoticed. Support this cause, Support our Veterans...
