The word church comes from the Greek - Ecclesia - which means assembly of PEOPLE. It does not mean a pile of bricks and mortar.
I suggest the council concern themselves with people not inanimate objects that people use.

There is no validity in making this building into a heritage listing.

The idea that this building has heritage significance is preposterous. Council look for another building.

St George church belongs to all parishioners who are more than capable of looking after the needs of the building that they paid for with their own money.
They have been doing a wonderful job taking particular care of their beloved church and do not need external interference to continue to preserve and upkeep a church they have been the caring custodians of for over 50 years

The building is modern to even be considered for heritage listing.
It’s totally ridiculous cancel this proposal and let us the community enjoy our church.

This church belongs to the parish, not to the government. The parish does not desire this heritage listing - please respect their wishes and let them continue to care for their church!

The Orthodox Church was built with its own traditions of Architecture. It belongs to Greek Orthodox Christians who migrated here and built it with Love, Devotion, Faith, Blood, Sweat and Tears in Honour of Christ, The Mother of God, the Saints, Martyrs and it’s Patron, St George. Decisions of Non-Orthodox or Non-Christian entities have no place here concerning this parish. Absolutely Unacceptable!

Please leave our church to the Christian families who seek comfort & faith from this place of worship. Why do councils & government interfere all the time. I’ll be emailing our esteem federal member who is always keen to help marginalised people of the community

I support St. George's Church opposition of the Woollahra Council's proposed heritage listing of it's church building. The Council's proposal seems unreasonable and would, more than likely, be a detriment to the growth and vitality of the church community. Please do not go forward with this proposed heritage listing. Thank you for your time and allowing me to express my support for St. George Church.

Politics DO NOT mix with Religion and its freedom and any attempt to impose control is a dangerous impost upon our rights to choose future development.
